NBC has enlisted the help of several veteran broadcasters to host its coverage of the Summer Olympics' closing ceremony, and Olympic novices will be added to the mix.
Jimmy Fallon is new; tonight show The host will make his debut as an Olympic host at the closing ceremony in August. Fallon will appear alongside Mike Tirico, Terry Gannon, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir as part of NBC's Closing Ceremony coverage starting Sunday, August 11th at 2pm ET.
Fallon has contributed to NBC's past Olympic coverage, but this will be his official debut as a member of the broadcast team.

The trio of Gannon, Lipinski and Weir have hosted NBC's closing ceremony coverage for the past three Olympics. In contrast, Tirico hosted the closing ceremony of his 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Fallon, who will host the closing ceremony, was teased last month when Tirico, Kelly Clarkson and Peyton Manning appeared. tonight show We announced that we will be hosting the opening ceremony. At the end of that segment, Tirico invited Fallon to Paris and asked him to co-host the closing ceremony.
Gannon, Lipinski and Weir have been regulars on NBC's figure skating broadcasts during the Winter Olympics dating back to 2014. In addition to hosting the closing ceremony, Gannon will also call the gymnastics competition in Paris, making it the second consecutive Olympics that NBC will call the competition.
The Olympics generally cater to a larger audience than die-hard sports fans, and some of the names co-hosting NBC's coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies confirm that point.
