Jaron Ennis is ready to give his family and friends an unforgettable performance at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. “The Boots” will defend his IBF welterweight title against David Avanesyan on July 13. The bout will be broadcast on DAZN.
Ennis (31-0) will hold the IBF interim title until early 2023 and was named full-time champion after Terence Crawford was stripped of the belt. “The Boots” remains interested in a matchup with the former unbeaten welterweight champion, but will be looking to prove he can withstand the homecoming attention against Avanesyan.
“anything [Crawford] If he thinks he can do it, I can do it even more. I want to show and prove my skills to the world. [and] “My abilities are amazing,” Ennis told Kayla Rivera via Def Pen. “I [haven’t] Really [gone] It's not in the bag yet. I feel like they haven't seen the best of me.”
Avanesyan (30-4-1) made a name for himself as a powerful punching welterweight fighter before losing to Crawford in 2022. The Russian-born fighter will replace Cody Crowley, who was pulled from the card due to a serious eye issue.

With about five weeks to prepare, Avanesyan is heavily outnumbered but confident in his skills and punching power.
“I want the best fighter, and he's one of the best, but that's what I want,” Avanesyan told The Ring. [a] It's a good opportunity for me. I'm not starting my career so I want the best. I love the fact that he's one of the best players out there. He's very good all-around but he's not good at hitting. Why? [the inactivity] The problem? It's ok, I'm hungry. I just want to beat him. This is my last chance.”
#The undercard sees a young star seek to defend his title for the first time, a former title challenger prepare to take the challenge again and young prospects looking to keep their momentum going.
