How did you get started in boxing and how old were you?
I started when I was about 10 years old. My dad wanted me to learn to take care of myself and be healthy as I grew up, never to compete.
Who is your favourite fighter and why?
I can't pick just one – I'm too greedy and I like too many people and styles.
What is the best game you have seen live or on TV?
Watch the three-round Hagler vs. Hearns fight on YouTube.
What has been your greatest achievement in boxing so far?
He won the national championship as a junior and represented England in boxing.
Who is the toughest opponent you have ever faced and why?
I boxed for England against a lad from Wales who was very good and he was two steps ahead of me all night..
What are your strengths and weaknesses as a boxer?
A strength is probably my work ethic. [weakness] Sometimes being too much of a perfectionist can get you down.
What's the best boxing training advice you've received?
There are no shortcuts, so don't try to find one.
What is your favorite meal and restaurant?
I love food so much that I can't choose one. I'll never go hungry anywhere in the world. I love food so much that I'll try anything at least once.
Who is your best friend in boxing?
My dad, Rico, has been my coach since the beginning. The amount of time we spend training and traveling to compete and train is incredible. He works just as hard as I do..
What other athlete would you like to be?
Surely Usain Bolt has a story to tell.
What is one thing you would like to change about professional boxing?
It would be a nightmare having to run around trying to sell tickets.
If a movie were to be made about your life, which actor would play you?
Jason Statham in a wig. A little action with him.
Have you ever been star-struck? If so, who was that star?
I've never been starstruck, but I once took a selfie with a LadBaby couple at a boxing show and my mum loved them so much I had to send her the picture.
When was the last time you cried and why?
It's a personal event that happened in my life in the last month or so.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
If you keep trying hard, there is always a chance you can succeed.
What is the worst rumor you have heard about yourself?
Not so much rumors, but I hear a lot of stories about myself, who I am, what kind of person I am. Scunthorpe is a small town.
Tell us something less known about you.
I am a big family person so I would rather sit at home with my family than be anywhere else.
