Jamal Murray, who missed out on a spot on Canada's national team for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, watched from home as Jordi Fernandes' team won a bronze medal and qualified for this summer's Olympics.
Commenting on such a great appointment, he confirmed his intention to participate. “I'm excited to be a part of it.” He told Eurohoops: “We have a great team, it was great to see them win medals.” [at the 2023 FIBA World Cup]. I hope things go my way this summer and I can win the gold medal.”He also commented.
He expressed excitement about Canada's potential and highlighted the national team's underrated assets. “I'm looking forward to seeing our group. We have a lot of underrated players on the team that don't get a lot of attention, but they can impact the game in different ways.”He said.
“I don’t follow Euroleague, but that’s my guy.”said of former teammate P.J. Dozier. “I've contacted him a few times and he's out doing his job. I think Euro life is a little different, but he's having fun. I'm happy to have him here. We’d love to have him, we had a lot of fun when he was here.”he added.
Jamal Murray had other words of praise for the current Partizan Belgrade forward, who could leave Europe at the end of this season. “He's got the game and can adapt to anyone on the court. He's definitely an NBA player. Once he gets healthy, there's no question.”he continued.
