Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry fight preview
When Jake Paul and Mike Perry face off this weekend in Tampa, Fla., oddsmakers are predicting Paul to be the clear favorite, with BetOnline projecting Paul to win at staggering odds of -400, which equates to an implied probability of winning of 80.0%.
The 27-year-old social media phenom has his fair share of skeptics for a variety of reasons, but he's been able to silence many of them with his success in the ring. Despite facing opponents of varying skill levels, Paul has a 9-1 record in the boxing ring with six of his wins by knockout. He is currently on a three-fight win streak, most recently scoring first-round KO/TKO victories over Andre August and Ryan Borland.
Perry is not the first former mixed martial artist Paul has fought, having already defeated the likes of Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
It will be interesting to see how Perry performs in his second boxing bout, the Flint, Michigan native lost by fourth-round knockout to Kenneth McNeil in 2015.
That being said, it was in the world of mixed martial arts where Perry made his name. He began his career with a 14-8 record over seven years, with 11 knockout wins in his first 12 fights. Unfortunately, he was unable to sustain that success long-term, deciding to retire from UFC in 2021 after losing seven of his final 10 fights.
But when one door closes, another opens, and since leaving the UFC, Perry has gone 5-0 as a bare-knuckle fighter, with wins over Thiago Alves, Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold in his last three bouts.
Perry may not have as much boxing experience as Paul, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a tough opponent who won't go down without a fight.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry prop bets and betting trends
Sportsbooks like BetOnline also have a variety of betting props that give more insight into how the Paul vs. Perry match will play out.
For example, BetOnline has odds of -200 on Saturday's showdown not going a full round. Paul has gone a full round four times in his boxing career, with the last two ending in finishes, while eight of Perry's last 10 MMA fights have reached the round limit, including two of his first five BKFC bouts.
If it were to go to the wire, Paul would have -130 odds to win by KO/TKO, and he has six KO/TKO wins, but even if that's the favorable outcome, it's worth noting that Perry has only been knocked out twice in his MMA, BKFC and boxing career.
If you want more favorable finish odds, Paul is likely (+850) to KO/TKO Perry in the fourth or fifth round. Interestingly, five of his six career knockout wins have come in the first two rounds.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Predictions and Best Bets
Now that this battle is approaching, I Jake Paul's win this weekendWhile Mike Perry has the fighting advantage, Paul is bigger and has had more success in boxing, and that experience should pay off for the 27-year-old as he beats Perry at Amalie Arena.
My betting options are: Paul wins on pointsPerry is probably way outnumbered, but he is still extremely tough and knows how to survive an onslaught. I could see the BKFC star dealing with anything Paul throws at him and the judges awarding him the victory.
