Jake Paul was quick to respond to Nate Diaz's call.
After winning a majority decision in a boxing ring in a rematch against Jorge Masvidal, Diaz turned his attention to some of his past opponents, including Paul.
In a post-fight interview with Brian Campbell, Diaz had some harsh words for his former opponent, whom he defeated by unanimous decision in a boxing match last August.
“I'm going to beat up Jake Paul, and I'm going to fight the highest ranked boxer I can find,” Diaz said, “and my main goal, as it always has been, is to be the best fighter in the world, so I want to get that UFC title back. Leon Edwards, Jake Paul, whoever else, you're done.”
“Yeah, my heart's still beating,” Paul said in a video response to Diaz that he posted to social media. Watching the post-fight interview, Paul also mocked his former rival's stutter in the video, with a caption that claimed the UFC veteran shunned lucrative mixed martial arts fights under the PFL banner.
“Nate Diaz you're the bitch that ducked my PFL $15 million MMA offer,” Paul wrote in the post's caption. Videos of X“Masvidal is trash too, too bad.”
Paul is under contract with the PFL to compete in MMA but is yet to make his debut in the sport.
Diaz won his first professional boxing victory over Masvidal by controversial majority decision, marking the second time the two have met in combat sports following their inaugural BMF title bout at UFC 244 in 2019.
Paul and Diaz have been calling the shots since their meeting at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and while it's unclear if a rematch will happen in the future, for now Paul has a busy schedule with bouts scheduled against UFC veteran and bare-knuckle boxing star Mike Perry in July and boxing legend Mike Tyson in November.
