Ahead of his fight with “Iron” Mike Tyson, Jake Paul has been offered a $2 million “winner-take-all” bout with one of boxing's most famous legends.
Since entering the world of boxing, Jake Paul has seen many boxers, active and retired, speak out against his record, and while he has had plenty of vocal supporters, including Terence Crawford and Mike Tyson, his detractors outnumber him.
Carl Froch, Tony Bellew, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Oscar De La Hoya have all criticized Jake's skills and record, with many urging him to fight a “real” boxer.
“The Problem Child” has started to answer those criticisms by fighting veteran boxers, recently beating Andre August and Ryan Borland fairly easily, and is also scheduled to face Mike Tyson in mid-November.
But during that time, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was offered a “winner-take-all” bout against Eric Esch, also known as Butterbean.
Yes, the former super heavyweight fighter who has always enjoyed a cult following in the boxing world wants to fight Jake. “Jake Paul, would you like to fight me for $2 million? Winner takes it all,” Paul said in a TikTok on July 28.
But his fans are divided on how it will turn out. “Butterbean you're amazing but Jake is younger and has more punch,” said one fan. “Sorry Jake is going to win!!!!” said another. “Oh god please this is how it goes. Butterbean beats Paul every single time,” commented another.
After losing weight over the past few years, Esch now weighs under 300 pounds for the first time since he began fighting regularly.
He hasn't stepped in the ring since losing to Kirk Lawton in 2013, but Esch has criticized Jake on several occasions since he started boxing.
