Jackie Chan has reassured fans that his older appearance in recent photos was for an upcoming movie role.
The Hong Kong-born actor was photographed with gray hair earlier this year, prompting speculation among fans about his health.
The martial arts star addressed the speculation in a social media post as he celebrated his 70th birthday with a series of photos reflecting on his illustrious career.
“Not too long ago, many of my friends saw my recent photos on the Internet and they were all worried about my health,” he wrote.
“I would like to take this opportunity to tell everyone, don’t worry!
“This is just a character appearance for my latest film. This character requires me to have gray hair, a white beard, and look older.
“Over the years, I've always been willing to try new things for my films, whether it's a challenging stunt or a groundbreaking introduction for a character.”
The honorary Oscar winner said he has been in the entertainment industry for 62 years and “cherishes every moment.”
“All I can say is that I love making movies and I love you all.”
Although Chan did not elaborate on the role in which he would have to look older, he will play Mr. Han in the upcoming film The Best Kid, alongside Ralph Macchio, star of the 1984 original. is scheduled to be performed again.
Regarding turning 70, the actor said, “Every time I hear this number, my heart almost stops for a moment.''
