A restorative approach to secondary education success

The Pathways to Prosperity and Excellence program is located on Ivy Tech Muncie Cowan Road. Advanced technology center Students can receive private instruction from Ivy Tech.Through this program, students can successfully obtain their high school diploma. The same goes for industry-recognized qualifications and certifications. In addition to support in virtual classes, students will complete the Ivy Tech Career Assessment Tool and work with a career coach to determine the best path to a career after graduation.
Depending on the results of the career assessment tool, students will be enrolled in academic courses or skills training at Ivy Tech. This may include certifications such as OSHA 10, Six Sigma White Belt, CPR-First Aid, and Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR). ) Mental Health First Aid, Forklift, Smart Automation, Certified Production Technician, Welding, Certified Medication Assistant (QMA), and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA). For additional support, Ivy Tech also provides wraparound services to all participants in the Pathways to Prosperity and Excellence program, including mental health services, university addiction recovery services, food pantries, emergency assistance, and specialized clothing closets .
Students in the Pathways to Prosperity and Excellence program have the opportunity to access and participate in the following Ivy Tech services:
- Ivy Strong: Ivy Career Strong is a career assessment platform that conducts interest assessments to find educational and career pathways. For each pathway, Ivy Tech links interests to careers, salaries, job prospects, skills, and Ivy Tech programs.
- College Readiness (IVY-T): This specialized IVY-T course provides students with an overview of the skills and strategies needed to successfully focus on achieving their educational, career, and life goals.
- CliftonStrengths for Students: This assessment gives students the resources, techniques, and inspiration they need to thrive in college and beyond. From deciding how to get involved on campus to deciding on a career path, CliftonStrengths for Students helps students explore their strengths.
- Resuming the workshop: Career coaches work with students to develop resumes.
- Interview workshop: Career coaches will conduct mock interviews and provide interview tips.
- Career development portfolio: A toolkit to help students become career ready.
- Wraparound service: The Student Advocacy team provides students with access to mental health awareness, coordination with AWARE team members, and collaboration with the university's recovery substance use staff.
The pilot will focus on students at Muncie Central High School.

Students in the Pathways to Prosperity and Excellence program have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning opportunities to take further steps toward a prosperous future. Success is measured by attendance record, completed credentials, and number of hours of tutoring attended.
