Did Charles Barkley think he was just going to sit back and watch TNT lose the NBA rights? He's a guy who says whatever comes into his head, regardless of the topic or the place. Of course he was going to say something, and frankly, this is great. He's not just speaking for his job, he's speaking for all the people who work on set and more. He knows that fans want TNT for the NBA. We want Inside the NBA, we want Kevin Harlan, we want what they've been doing for decades.
All I know is that Charles Barkley will say whatever he wants on Inside the NBA next season. He has nothing to lose. He's already said he's retiring after next season. He's rich and doesn't have to worry about pissing off the NBA. What will they do? Take his show away, mission accomplished. Ernie Johnson will try to control it somehow and Shaq/Chuck will lose his mind no matter what.
It sucks. He's right there. I hate having to jump around to a new NBA channel to watch the games. I don't even mind going back to Roundball Rock. It's not worth losing Inside NBA for that. Call me old school, but for the last 20+ years I've been used to having two channels on to watch the NBA. Easy and simple. My fingers know it when I turn on the TV during the season. I know money is important. I'm not that stupid. But you also know how to keep the money coming in, right? By keeping the fans happy.
I just want to turn on the TV and watch the game. That's it. More importantly, I don't want to lose to Inside the NBA. They can't move to another channel because it won't be the same. It should be on TNT. It should be a show that we all happen to watch and don't care about actual analysis.
