{KXLG – Watertown, South Dakota} The Watertown community officially has a junior hockey team, as the North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced that its Board of Directors has approved Watertown, South Dakota's application to join an NAHL team. I knew.
The Watertown Shamrocks will compete in the Central Division starting in the 2024-25 season. It is owned and operated by Codington County Hockey Club LLC, which includes Mark Gulbrandson, Vince Foley, Donald Sisson and KC Finnegan. The Shamrocks will become South Dakota's second NAHL team.

The Shamrocks will be based at Prairie Lakes Ice Arena. With the goal of establishing an active, long-term presence locally, the Shamrocks plan to be active in Watertown through community engagement. The team aims to measure success on the ice by developing players who can compete at the next level, but more importantly, developing character in the young men who call Watertown home during their junior hockey careers.
