The Washington Wolfpack will begin their first season home opener on May 5th. Head coach and mascot “Apollo” will be at King 5 to get the fans excited.
EVERETT, Wash. — Washington state's newest sports team is ready to have local fans cheering them on in the stands. The Washington Wolfpack is a new team in the Arena Football League. This year marks the first year of the team's creation.
The Wolfpack will kick off its home opener at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett on Sunday, May 5th at 3 p.m.
The team suffered a loss on the road in its first game against the Pacific Northwest rivals, the Oregon Black Bears, which the AFL described as “shaky.” The Wolfpack lost 47-40.
Wolfpack head coach J.R. Wells said he is excited about this first season and said fans will see fast-paced football on a 50-yard field.
This season, the team will give away a limited-edition “Pup Pack” to the first 500 kids 13 and under who join the kids club at home games.

The pup pack includes a certificate, team logo water bottle, foam football, and a clear stadium bag to hold all your gear. On game day, in the concourse he'll check out three additional Kids Club activities to earn an extra Kids Club exclusive sticker to add to his water bottle.
The Kids Club is part of the Washington Wolfpack's ongoing efforts to create a family-friendly and inclusive environment.
The team's mascot “Apollo” joined King 5 on May 4th. The mascot is named after the famous character Carl Weathers, a former Whibey Island resident. rocky movie.
