LSALTA is doing great things by breaking down barriers and making martial arts accessible to everyone. One thing that really impressed me is the high female participation rate. Their Warrior Training program, in particular, is helping to bring more women into the world of mixed martial arts. The program gives women of all ages a platform to explore and succeed in these disciplines.
interviewerThat's great. The Warrior Training program seems like a key aspect of this inclusivity. Can you share your thoughts on how this program, and ALTA as a whole, encourages more women to get involved in martial arts and combat sports?
LS: Absolutely. The Warrior Training Program is a 20-week curriculum designed to transform complete beginners into well-rounded fighters. What's great is that it acts as a gateway to learning the fundamentals of a variety of disciplines, including wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and boxing. For women who may have been hesitant to get involved in the past, the program offers a structured and supportive environment to develop skills and confidence. ULTA's promotion of inclusivity has been a breakthrough for women in martial arts.
interviewer: It’s clear that ALTA is making great strides in rebuilding its attendee demographic. Can you share some personal experiences or observations you’ve seen in your role as an ambassador that have had an impact on female attendees?
LS: Absolutely. As an ambassador, I have had the opportunity to interact with participants both in person and through the community that ARTA has created. What is remarkable is the diverse group of women coming together to support each other on their journeys. And we're not just talking about professional fighters, but everyday women who want to embrace the discipline, fitness, and community that martial arts offers. ARTA fosters an environment where women feel comfortable, confident, and excited to be a part of this world.
interviewer: As a former professional mixed martial artist and commentator, you have a unique perspective on the growth of the sport. How do you think Alta's approach will impact the broader landscape of women's participation in and through combat sports?
LSALTA is making a huge impact in the field.
