Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Social media influencer Adin Ross is no stranger to the martial arts world.
Best known for live streaming with various celebrities and video game broadcasts such as: grand theft auto, Ross also spent time training with names that regular readers of this column will know. He traded blows with the likes of Jake Paul and Ryan Garcia, and took a body shot from UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
Earlier on Wednesday (April 3, 2024), Ross revealed that he recently spent time with bantamweight kingpin Sean O'Malley. He is new to the influencer scene. To celebrate his title defense against Marlon Vera at UFC 299, Ross gave O'Malley a tricked-out vintage car (see highlights). Since it was a present for “Suga”, the body of the car was of course bright pink!
Eat to your heart's content, Xzibit.
Later that day, Ross released another video of himself stepping into the cage opposite “Suga.” I'm not claiming that O'Malley committed a Sean Strickland-style assault on his influencer friend, but he didn't even let Ross take a shot! In another video, O'Malley is seen dismantling the social media star. O'Malley is clearly pulling his punches, but it's still a unique response to a friendly gift.
See a small sample below.
O'Malley became the champion last year by knocking out Aljamain Stelling. The successful defense against 'Tito' extended his undefeated record to seven, and 'Suga' is expected to return to action later this year opposite Merab Dvalishvili.

This welterweight contest will very likely end within a round.
Watch Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway sparring! “Sandman” is a pretty decent analogue, considering Cory Sandhagen is one of four other fighters (not counting Holloway) to land the jab.
Speaking of UFC 300, what fight are you most looking forward to?
There's nothing like a little comedy.
Just in case you needed another reason not to care about Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson…
Dustin Poirier seems more involved in promoting the film than starring in it, which is cool, too.
Does anyone know why this escape from a rear clinch doesn't work in MMA? Looks functional to me!
Slip, Rip, KO Clip
The element of surprise is the main reason buggy chokes work in sports where slamming is allowed.
He perfectly controls the distance, slides a jab, and returns two punches.
Krause didn't let his opponent treat the clinch as a safe space.
