The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has announced the appointment of Wissam Abi Nader, Valentina David and Mohamed Ali Kamber as the federation's new non-executive directors.
Wissam Abi Nader, previously Asia Director, has been promoted to Interim Vice President of IMMAF. With a lifelong commitment to martial arts and an illustrious career in judo, Wissam brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is a 12-time Lebanese Judo champion, the first West Asian Jiu-Jitsu Champion, and has also achieved remarkable success in Sambo competitions. Wissam played a pivotal role in the development of MMA in the Middle East region, founding Lebanon's first MMA club and spearheading the Lebanese Mixed Martial Arts Committee.
Valentina David also joins IMMAF as a non-executive director, bringing more than 15 years of expertise in trade, compliance and global governance. Ms. Valentina's professional background in policy development and implementation, coupled with her interest in diverse sports ranging from swimming, dance, karate, and mixed martial arts, will bring diverse expertise to her leadership team. is expected.
Mohamed Ali Qamber, president of the Bahrain MMA Federation and event management consultant for the BRAVE Combat Federation, has also joined IMMAF as a non-executive director. With a background in Olympic research and extensive experience in mixed martial arts event management, Mr. Mohammed's insights will help drive IMMAF's strategic initiatives and global expansion.
This appointment follows last week's announcement that UFC fighter and 2014 IMMAF World Champion Amanda Rivas and 2016 and 2017 IMMAF World Champion Ilman Smadik have joined the IMMAF Board of Directors as non-executive directors in the form of athlete representatives. This follows.
