Olympic, Commonwealth and World Championship gold medalist boxer Lauren Price has told how she chose boxing over football after a trial with Chelsea.
The 29-year-old is one of Britain's most highly regarded boxers and will aim to become a professional world champion in his welterweight title fight against Jessica McCaskill on May 11th.
The bout will be Price's seventh professional boxing bout and will take place at Cardiff's Utilita Arena. She has represented Wales 52 times in football from Under-17s to senior level and she will have the support of her home crowd.
Ahead of the game, Price opened up about his football career. She was also a six-time European champion in kickboxing, but boxing was her priority.

“I was also a big Arsenal fan. Arsenal Women's team is one of the best teams. We played against them in the FA Cup and we played in the Champions League.”

“At that time, women's soccer wasn't quite there yet. Looking back, it wasn't like it is now.
“Obviously, my dream was to go to the Olympics. If boxing didn't work out, I was thinking of going back to soccer, but I just fell in love with the sport and really fell in love with it.”
“When people say to me, 'Oh, do you miss football?' Because he started at the highest level and has achieved so much in this sport.
“But I love soccer and I'm proud to represent my country, so going out wearing the U-19 national team armband was a big highlight.”
