Garcia's social media announcement
After the match, Ryan took to social media to announce his new role and share a training plan for Sean. Ryan, who is currently in rehab for alcohol problems and serving a one-year suspension for substance abuse, spoke humorously about his new role under his handle “X.”
“Sean may have lost, but we have great news to share,” Garcia said.
“I wasn't with him. The Vargas brothers are 1-0 against us. It's OK. Let's call for a rematch. And I'm the head trainer. Amado, how are you?”
Ryan GarciaThe 24-1 pro record earned him a reported $50 million for his fight against Haney in April before he tested positive for the performance-enhancing substance ostarine.
“Ostarine alcohol and a right hook to Sean is the plan I'm working on with Sean right now and then once he makes $50 million he's banned for life,” Garcia joked on X.
