What you need to know
The Hornets have quite a challenge ahead of them as they are expected to be blown off the court. After playing just yesterday, they will be on the road to take on the Philadelphia 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center on March 16th at 7pm ET. Both teams lost in their previous matches, so there will be plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
The Hornets and Suns, whose last meeting ended 133-119, decided to play a little more cautiously this time. On Friday, Charlotte lost 107-96 to the Suns. The Hornets haven't had much luck against the Suns lately, falling just short in their last six meetings.
Perhaps unsurprising given the score, the Hornets struggled to connect and finished the game with just 20 assists. They just can't pass the ball and don't win (0-15).
On the other hand, Philadelphia also suffered a loss in the previous game, but this time they defeated the Bucks 114-105. The 76ers led 45-33 in the second game, but were unable to hold on to their lead.
Charlotte has been on a rocky road lately, losing eight of its last 10 games, a notable dent in its 17-50 record this season. As for Philadelphia, this is his second straight loss, dropping his season record to 36-30.
Saturday's game is one where possession will likely be a big factor. The Hornets haven't given up the ball easily this season, averaging just 13 turnovers per game. But it's not like the 76ers (currently No. 1 in turnovers per game) are struggling in that department, as they average just 11.1 turnovers per game. Given these competing strengths, it will be interesting to see how their conflict plays out.
The Hornets last faced the 76ers on March 1, losing 121-114 and falling just short. Will the Hornets be able to avenge their loss or is history destined to repeat itself? We'll soon find out.
