Two of the toughest MMA fighters of all time, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal, will face off in a boxing ring in California.
The two fighters met in 2019, with Masvidal defeating Diaz for the iconic BMF title. Masvidal landed 112 effective strikes at Madison Square Garden, ultimately defeating Diaz via TKO.
Masvidal has lost four straight since that bout, including two fights for the UFC welterweight title, with “Gunbred” retiring from MMA in 2023 before launching his own combat sports promotion.
“On fight day, once I'm done, I'm going to shut up all of his fans,” Masvidal said. “It's going to be two dogs fighting in the ring, and neither of us is going to back down. I know I'm going to have to give it my all to beat him and shut everybody up. We've fought before, and he knows what I bring to the table. I bring speed and power, but I'm not a nice guy. I'm going to fight with heat, like I always do.”

Diaz went 1-1 after the Masvidal fight and finished his UFC contract with a submission win over Tony Ferguson. The Ultimate Fighter 5 lightweight tournament winner faced Jake Paul in a boxing match in August 2023, losing to “Problem Child” but leaving the YouTuber with no energy left.
“I knew I'd be back here eventually and the time would come,” Diaz said. “After the first fight, I immediately started doing what I had to do. I still feel like I'm a real BMF. I plan to keep fighting forever…I'm not going to fight to get hit. My plan is to hit and not get hit. I'm going to fight to win. That's what it's all about.”
