The 2024 NBA Summer League California Classic continued on Sunday night with a lineup of recent top draft picks and players hoping to make regular-season rosters.
NBA teams don't begin playing summer league in Las Vegas until July 12, but several first-round draft picks are still in the mix, including Dalton Knecht and Kel'el Ware.
Bronny James sat out Sunday as a precaution after experiencing swelling in his left knee, but is expected to return for the Los Angeles Lakers' next game on Wednesday.
Stephen Castle also did not play in the San Antonio Spurs vs Sacramento Kings game.
Here's a closer look at the performances of other notable players throughout the day.
Kelel Ware continues to perform well in second round of Summer League
Despite being the 15th overall draft pick, Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware already looks like a bargain after two games.
Ware led Miami to victory, recording a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds in just over 29 minutes on the court, and was nearly unstoppable after halftime, scoring 18 points in the second half alone.
Though Ware missed two long-range shots, he shot 57.1 percent from the field and fans were amazed by his performance.
Dalton Knecht puts up highlights despite inefficient performance
Knecht, the Lakers' 2024 first-round draft pick, showed signs of improvement while struggling with his overall efficiency, making just 3 of 13 shots on Sunday after going 3 of 12 from the field and 1 of 4 from 3-point range on Saturday.
Knecht, 23, led the team with 12 points, two rebounds and an assist, and also played well on the defensive end of the court, collecting two steals.
The 17th overall pick in the 2024 draft has struggled to find his shooting rhythm through two Summer League games, but fans remain positive about his prospects entering his rookie season.
Ethan Thompson leads Warriors to victory
Thompson spent the 2023-24 season with the Mexico City Capitanes of the NBA G League but has made a strong case for a spot on an NBA roster through two summer league games.
The 25-year-old guard also recorded a double-double in Golden State's win over the Lakers, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on 53.3 percent shooting. He also shot 40 percent from the free throw line on Sunday, making all four of his free throws. Thompson also had four assists and three steals.
He is currently averaging 24.5 points per game through two games and is making a strong impression on fans.
The next game in the Salt Lake City Summer League is on Monday, starting with the Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 pm ET.
