Saint Mary's senior Caleb Pearson is taking part in the Dallas Stars' four-day camp that concludes Thursday. Pearson, who turned 24 a few weeks ago, recorded career-highs of 18 goals and 28 points in his third season at the University of Prince Edward Island.
He also skated with the Las Vegas Knights' top prospects in 2021 before being invited to the team's main camp.
“They're the best players in the world,” he said at the time. “I studied them, I watched them play, I learned things from them and incorporated them into my own game. They were always talking to us, asking how we were doing. They were really good.”
Another St. Mary's product, Sam Sedley, is in Voorhees, N.S., for the Philadelphia Flyers' camp, which opened on Tuesday. Sedley, 21, finished his junior career with Owen Sound with nine goals and 63 points. He also set a franchise record for assists by an Attack defenceman in the 2023-24 season, his fourth year with the Ontario Hockey League club.

Sedley's OHL teammate, former St. Mary's Lincolns goaltender Carter George, wrapped up his first training camp in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The Kings drafted George, who has a 3.30 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 56 games in 2023-24, with the 57th overall pick over the weekend.
George was named to the OHL All-Rookie First Team and the OHL All-Star Third Team, but his draft prospects skyrocketed after he was named the Gretzky-Hinkle Cup's top goaltender last August. George posted a 2.33 ERA and .915 save percentage while leading Canada to a gold medal win against the best U-18 players in the world.
“When you grow up, you dream about getting drafted, and then when it actually happens, it's a big deal,” he told Kings announcer Daryl Evans. “I never expected it, so it's kind of a shock.”

George appeared in 17 games with Lincoln in the 2022-23 season, posting a 2.74 ERA and .910 save percentage. He was the second goaltender selected in the NHL Draft.
“I have to thank my parents for everything they've done for me,” he told Evans. “They've got me where I am. I can't thank my family enough.”
Former Stratford Warriors goaltender Owen Wilmore finished up camp with the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.
Wilmore played last season with the OHL's London Knights after helping Stratford come close to winning the Sutherland Cup in 2022-23, posting a 2.96 ERA and .899 save percentage in the regular season. He appeared in three playoff games and finished the season with a 0.87 ERA and .966 save percentage as the Knights lost in the Memorial Cup final.
