Kalamazoo, Michigan – Western Michigan continues to rank in national polls, with USCHO and USA Hockey/The Rink Live rankings released this afternoon.
The Broncos were ranked 15th in both polls this week. Denver, North Dakota, Omaha, Colorado College and St. Cloud State join the Broncos as top 20 teams. The NCHC is one of only two conferences with six or more teams in the rankings.
WMU has a week off, but will find out how it fares in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 24th. The Broncos currently rank 13th pairwise, above the projected cut line.
If Western Michigan makes the tournament, it will play at one of four regional venues. Regional locations include Maryland Heights, Missouri, Providence, Rhode Island, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Springfield, Massachusetts. “Frozen 4” is located in St. Paul, Minnesota.
This season, WMU has been celebrating 50 years of Bronco Varsity Hockey. This is being commemorated in a variety of ways, including displaying a special his 50th anniversary logo in the center of the ice, special in-game tributes throughout the season, and a special Alumni Weekend. . Bronco hockey on January 26th and 27th. In addition, each season ticket holder will receive a special 50th anniversary pack commemorating this season.
