Minotaur head coach Cody Campbell has been named the 2023-2024 NAHL Coach of the Year. Following a historic season with the Tauros, Campbell said he credits his team for helping him perform so well.
In his third season in Minot, the Tauros enjoyed their most success ever in the Magic City, advancing all the way to the Robertson Cup Championship in Blaine, Minn. The Tauros set numerous franchise records, including 44 wins and 208 goals. During a successful season, Campbell said true success is seeing players progress to the next level and their kids build lifelong relationships.
“I'm really proud of the success we've had and the records we've had, but what I'm most proud of are the players that are going on to higher levels and the relationships they've built with each other. They're the closest team I've ever been a part of and they'll be friends for life,” Campbell said.
Campbell did not take credit for winning Coach of the Year, saying the award was a credit to his team and the entire Minotaur organization.
Campbell also owes a lot of gratitude to his wife, who he says has allowed him to spend so much time with the team.
“It feels really special because, honestly, I don't feel like this is my award. It's a team award. My teammates have made me a better player this season and they're the ones who came out and performed on Friday and Saturday nights,” Campbell said.
