New Delhi: Hockey India has announced the 22-member junior women's team that will participate in the European tour from May 21 to 29. The team will play six games in three countries: Belgium, Germany and two club teams, Bredase Hockey's Vereenigingpusch and Orange Ruud. Netherlands.
India will play matches in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, pushing their game beyond their limits as they aim to dominate on the world stage.
They will play their first match in Breda on May 21st against Bredasee Hockey Vereniging Pusch, before playing Belgium at the same venue the following day.
India will then play Belgium for the second time on May 24, but this time Belgium will be the hosts. This will be followed by consecutive matches against Germany in Breda on May 26th and in Germany on May 27th.
They will then return to Breda for the final match of the tour against Orange Ruud on May 29th.
The team will be led by defender Jyoti Singh, with midfielder Sakshi Rana named as her deputy. Aditi Maheshwari and Nidhi will form the goalkeeping department while Jyoti Singh, Laltanruangi, Anjali Balwa, Puja Sahoo, Mamita Oram and Nil Kul will form the defence.
Kshetrimayum Sonia Devi, Rajani Kerkhetta, Priyanka Yadav, Haidem Sileima Chanu, Sakshi Rana, Anisha Sahu and Supriya Kujru form the midfield. The forwards named in the team are Binima Dhan, Hina Bano, Lalimpui, Ishika, Sanjana Holo, Sonam and Kanika Siwach.
“There is great camaraderie in the team. During the camp we all got to know each other very well. Everyone here is very technical and talented. It will be fun to play against the team and a good learning experience,” said Captain Jyoti Singh.
