Green River – High school soccer games in Sweetwater County over the weekend featured thrilling action and outstanding performances from the boys and girls teams.
For the men's teams, Friday began with conference showdown, with the No. 3 ranked Green River Wolves ending their undefeated streak in conference games with a commanding 5-0 victory over Lyman. Izek Arellano's hat-trick drew attention with goals in the 30th and 34th minutes and a penalty in the closing stages. Hunter Lake and Eiri Kuboll also found the back of the net for the Wolves.
Meanwhile, the Rock Springs Tigers faced a tough battle against No. 3 ranked Jackson Broncs, losing 6-0. Despite the Tigers' solid defense in the second half, they were unable to overcome a 5-0 deficit in the first half.

On Saturday, Green River continued its winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Mountain View. Braxton Doak scored twice for the Wolves with goals in the 33rd and 47th minutes to lead them to victory. Jackson Morris also contributed to the scoreboard as Green River remained undefeated and secured conference success.
Rock Springs fought valiantly against Star Valley on Saturday, but fell short 1-0. Despite their solid defensive efforts, the Tigers only scored one point from a penalty kick in the second half, they were unable to find the back of the net against Star Valley's tenacious defense.
On the girls side, No. 4 ranked Green River narrowly defeated Lyman, winning 6-5 in a high-scoring game on Friday. Isa Vasco caught the attention of GRHS and she scored all six goals, including the decisive opening goal with seven minutes remaining. Carly Sabey's Lyman hat trick kept the game tense, but it was Vasco's heroics that secured the victory for the Lady Wolves.

Rock Springs faced a tough challenge against No. 2 ranked Jackson, but ultimately fell short, losing 3-2. Despite a valiant effort and goals from AJ Guzman and Ella Brewster, Rock Springs could not contain Jackson's late momentum and the Lady Tigers lost by a narrow margin.
On Saturday, Rock Springs came back strong with a 5-1 victory over Star Valley. The Lady Tigers showed their superiority, especially on defense, reaffirming their strength in the conference.
Meanwhile, Green River continued its winning streak with a thrilling 7-6 victory over Mountain View. A great performance from Isa Basco, including six more goals (12 total for the weekend), sealed the victory for the Lady Wolves in a close game. Freshman Brynley Cordova also scored one goal for the Lady Wolves.
