Born in Gretna East, Nebraska. Winning its first state title in the school's first year without her seniors, star Sonora Duffini capped off an incredible junior season by setting a new state record with 55 goals. Duchesne advances to the state finals for the first time in 27 years, facing the Griffins at Morrison Stadium. In the scoreless 14th minute, Kendall Doberstein and Sonora Daffini took a corner kick. Obviously, the whole game I was thinking about how great it would feel to get the record, so obviously when I scored the third goal I was relieved and it meant a lot to me. Of course, we couldn't have done it without our team. Because they trusted me to achieve these goals. We are confident in our game plan and our girls will execute it as special players. Some of the things they do on the field you can't coach. There are a lot of plays that utilize their individual talents, their individual motivations, and it's a special night for us.

Gretna East finished its first season in school history by winning the girls soccer Class B state championship. The Griffins (21-1) defeated Duchesne Academy (18-2) his 6-1. The juniors won with forward Sonora Defini scoring her two goals and setting a new all-division record of 55 goals in a single season. The previous record (54 goals) was held by Katie Hobbs of Platteview, who set the record in 1998. added Kendall Doberstein, junior midfielder and UNO women's soccer commitment.
