Georgia Tech continued to perform well all day Sunday, with the school continuing to focus on Sunday night on the recruitment of four-star cornerback Darren Penson out of Sandy Creek High School in Georgia. The signing of Penson makes him the highest-rated freshman recruit at Georgia Tech, according to 247Sports.

This is a big commitment for Georgia Tech, as he becomes the school's second four-star commitment in the 2025 class, joining offensive lineman Justin Hasenhuettl. Penson is an athletic playmaker at 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, and committed to the Yellow Jackets after his official visit. Georgia Tech had to fend off many challengers to land Penson. Other schools that had offers for Penson included Kentucky, North Carolina, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis, Notre Dame, Penn State and West Virginia.
According to 247Sports, Penson is the No. 120 player in the nation, the No. 14 cornerback in the nation and the No. 14 player in the state of Georgia.
Georgia Tech has been bolstering its 2025 class all day. They've landed three-star athlete Jamauri Brice, safety Phoenix Felton, tight end Connor Rausch and offensive lineman Kevin Peay. The class is starting to take shape, with Brent Key and his staff looking to build a top-25 recruiting class.

“I also compete in track and field. I was Georgia State AAA Champion in the triple jump my sophomore year. I also won a silver medal in the 110m hurdles and competed at New Balance Nationals where I placed 5th. My best times are 11.13 in the 100, 14.21 in the 110h, 41.93 in the 300h, 20-6 in the LJ and 45-10 in the TJ.
2023: Georgia 5-AAA Player of the Year. Georgia 5-AAA 2nd Team QB. A two-way player at Sandy Creek who got snaps at QB and DB. Passed for 1,052 yards and 8 TDs, rushed for 814 yards and 8 TDs, averaging 7.9 yards per carry. 2022: Caught 22 passes for 432 yards and 4 TDs.
