The Georgia Tech football team is doing well today.
The Yellow Jackets added three-star offensive lineman Jimmy Bryson today, but then they also got a big addition with the signing of three-star safety RaeSean Dinkins. Dinkins is an in-state prospect who plays for Warner Robins High School and was being actively pursued by two SEC schools.
Dinkins is currently a three-star prospect and is rated the No. 564 prospect in the country, the No. 46 safety and the No. 59 prospect in the state of Georgia by 247Sports. He held offers from Mississippi, Mississippi State, Florida State, Cincinnati, Duke, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Missouri, North Carolina State, Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
Below is the scouting report on Dinkins from 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins.
“He's a well-rounded safety prospect who has shown he can defend both the pass and the run since his high school days. He doesn't have a ton of proven numbers, but he measured in at just over 5'10″ and 175 pounds the summer before his 11th grade year. He played multiple positions in the secondary as a sophomore and had eight interceptions for a team that competed for the Georgia AAAAAA title. He didn't get the ball as much early in his junior campaign, but he made stops in and around the box and had a bigger impact around the line of scrimmage. His lower body seems pretty fluid, allowing him to rotate and run and switch with pass catchers of different sizes on the field. He's a good prospect to be a low safety who can do a variety of things depending on what the defensive coordinator asks of him. He'll have to continue to grow, but he has some of the necessary skills to be a difference maker at the Power Five level. Given his physical disposition, he should be able to have a role on special teams.”
