The Georgia Bulldogs were projected to finish in the top four in the latest College Football Playoff projections.
With the 2024 college football season just a few months away, preseason predictions are beginning to roll in. The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to be one of 12 teams competing in the College Football Playoff this year, and the latest predictions line up with that.
The Athletic released their 12-team playoff projections with a full bracket, with the Bulldogs coming in second behind Ohio State. The other SEC teams were Ole Miss, Alabama and Texas. The article noted that Georgia has a tough schedule to get through this season, but their depth and talent should help them make it this season. Read the article below:
“The Bulldogs missed the CFP last year and were swept by an underpowered FSU team in the Orange Bowl. They have one of the toughest schedules in the country with trips to Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss and Kentucky, which has beaten four top 25 teams at home in the last three years. They welcome a powerhouse in Tennessee and open the season against Clemson at a neutral site. But the Bulldogs return 16 starters, including Michael Williams and Malachi Starks, and have a potential top 10 pick at quarterback in Carson Beck. Georgia also acquired a big playmaking WR in Colby Young from Miami. Georgia has depth and talent that should make a deep run in the postseason.”
Georgia has a number of high-profile games scheduled this season, including trips to Alabama, Texas and Mississippi, home games against Tennessee and Auburn and a neutral-site game against Clemson to start the year. Finishing first in the SEC with this schedule would be a major accomplishment and would certainly put Georgia in favor of a national title shot.
