The Georgia Bulldogs are projected to be the top team in college football through the 2026 season.
The Georgia Bulldogs enter the 2024 season as the favorite to win a national title and remain positioned to dominate the sports world. Coach Kirby Smart and his staff have consistently recruited top-tier players and are poised for a bright future.
ESPN released an article projecting college football power rankings through 2026, with the Bulldogs coming out on top. According to the article, Georgia's quarterback staff is ranked 4th, their offense is ranked 1st, their defense is ranked 3rd, and the overall team is ranked 1st. Here's what major news outlets have written about Georgia:
“Georgia holds the top spot in our team rankings, so the choice wasn't that difficult. If the Bulldogs had stayed healthier late last season, they might have won a third consecutive national title after being ranked No. 1 for much of the fall. They enter 2024 as one of the championship favorites, led by a Heisman Trophy-candidate quarterback and a deep, talented defense. Georgia also has more stability than many perennial top-five teams, with coach Kirby Smart signed through 2033 and the team still viewed as the team to beat in the SEC. The team signed ESPN's top-rated 2024 freshman class, led by cornerback Ellis Robinson IV, inside linebacker Justin Williams and three other defenders ranked in the top 26 nationally.”
Georgia returns key players on both sides of the football this year and has the depth to continue to be a top contender, and with the College Football Playoff expanded this season, it's almost a certainty the Bulldogs will be in the playoff every season for the foreseeable future.
