UFC 303 News: Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka react to last-minute rematch
Giannis Ghemmouri wins. Payton Talbot (+870)
Talbot looks promising, but doesn't always keep his head off the center line and relies on his reactivity to avoid or parry shots. Whether he gets to fight Talbot this weekend or not, puncher Gemmori always has a chance.
Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira, submission decision (+800)
Both Pereira and Prochaska found success with their grappling in their first bouts, with Pereira nearly securing a guillotine choke in the first round and Prochaska winning the round with a dominant ground game. Prochaska has also shown his prowess on the ground, as evidenced by his submission win over Glover Teixeira.
With the first bout in mind, grappling could be Prochazka's primary strategy going into the rematch, and it might be worth predicting the fight could end in a submission.
Alex Pereira wins by submission (+1700)
SUB has a very good chance of beating Pereira, considering he nearly secured a guillotine in the first bout. Prochazka's grappling will neutralize Pereira's power, and we may see him go for the takedown again. This is MMA, and sometimes the results can be unexpected.
Anthony Smith beats Roman Dolidze (+118)
It's surprising to see Smith on the losing side given he's just beaten promising Vitor Petrino, Smith appears to have better striking than Dolidze and can back it up with elite grappling.
Carlos Hernandez defeats Rei Tsuruya (+186)
Tsurutani has never fought a UFC-level opponent, while Hernandez has only lost to two top UFC prospects.
Andrei Arlovski defeats Martin Budai (+220)
Arlovski is a 45-year-old veteran mixed martial artist. His physical strength should be comparable to Buday's, and he should be able to win. The only difference is power, but if Buday can't use it, Arlovski will be the favorite.
Marc-Andre Barrio defeats Joe Pifer (+215)
Barrio's strength is his cardiovascular fitness, which is what cost Pifer his last fight.
