Sean Grove has held a variety of roles over his 47 years, from being a semi-professional soccer player in Europe to working as a lawyer and FBI agent. For the past 10 years he has focused on fitness as president of his Pilates and Rumble Boxing clubs.
Mr. Grove credits his dedication to being able to hang so many things on his imaginary hat rack.
“I am dedicated to achieving the goals I set for myself. I have always had a high level of confidence and belief in myself, which has helped me succeed in various career endeavors. ” says Grove. luck.
Grove also said he believes his past experiences have helped shape the leader he is today. He said he never asks his team to do anything he wouldn't do.
“I have always considered myself to be in service to something greater than myself. “Anyone working at the FBI has to have that mindset, and that carries over into my current leadership roles at Club Pilates and Rumble,” he says.
Despite her busy schedule, Grove says she always tries to have a structured routine. He vows that by doing these 7 things every day, he will stay motivated and on track to achieve his goals.
1. early riser
Mr. Grove's routine typically begins at 6 a.m.
“I always wake up early and try to make the most of the day ahead,” Grove says.
Waking up early has many proven benefits, including improved self-confidence and reduced stress that can affect your mental health. People who wake up early get more sunlight, which naturally lifts their mood.
The Grove also begins to settle down around 9pm each night.
“The lights will be turned off around 10 o'clock.”
2. drink lots of water
Grove says she keeps a bottle of water next to her bed and drinks it first thing when she wakes up.
The National Academy of Medicine suggests that men and women consume approximately 125 ounces and 91 ounces of water, respectively, each day. Eating hydrating foods such as fruit and drinking other beverages, not just sugary sodas, can also help you stay hydrated.
3. stretch
After drinking water in the morning, Grove says she spends 15 to 20 minutes stretching, breathing, and meditating.
“It wakes up my body and puts me in a positive mindset,” he says.
Stretching also increases blood flow to the brain and throughout the body, improves posture, increases flexibility and range of motion, and helps prevent injury.
Four. exercise every day
It may come as no surprise that Rumble's president prioritizes fitness. No matter how tight her schedule is that day, Groves still gets some form of exercise.
“If I had a little more time, I could do a full workout, but in that case I prefer to do functional fitness. I like weightlifting and also do high-intensity rumble training when possible. “I'm working on it. Even if I don't have a little time, I prioritize exercise and do things like walk the dog for 30 minutes,” he says.
Groves also believes that exercise can help limit the stress that accumulates at work.
“Movement is medicine.”
Five. take a mental health break
No matter how busy or stressful her day is, Groves says she always takes time out of her day to take a deep breath, even if it's just five minutes.
“It helps a lot with being productive and calming down,” Groves says.
Overwork and burnout can lead to high levels of stress, anxiety, fatigue, poor work performance, and even depression. It's important to take the beat when you need it. Try stepping away from your desk for a walk, switching to something less stressful, or prioritizing a hobby you enjoy after work to clear your mind.
Groves also believes in addressing challenges as soon as they arise to avoid stress from getting worse.
“If I feel something, I try to express it in a constructive or professional way in the moment so that the negative feelings don't fester. 6. spending time with loved ones
Groves says she always eats dinner with her family after work. He makes time to spend as much time as possible with his friends.
“Staying connected with friends and family is important. Having a healthy work-life balance will improve your performance during work hours,” he says.
7. reflect
Groves always tries to end the day by reflecting on it and making plans for the next one. He said his reflective time allows him to think more logically and factually about decisions the next day.
“Reflecting each night allows you to process and resolve business problems and challenges, allowing you to end your day effectively and avoid bringing negativity into the next day. ” he says.
You don't have to be an entrepreneur, a former semi-pro athlete, or work for the government to be considered successful. If you have established a routine that prioritizes your time and what's important to you, you're already on track to achieve that goal.
