Three-time Olympic medalist skier Irene Gou strolled through the charming town of Saint-Sebastien-sur-Loire, France, on Wednesday, June 5. Olympics.com reports that the picturesque town of fewer than 30,000 people was buzzing with excitement as Gou took part in the 25th stage of the Olympic Torch Relay leading to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Although Gu has won some impressive medals at the Beijing 2022 Olympics (silver in big air, halfpipe and slopestyle), she said being a torchbearer was an experience like no other. She felt incredible pride and excitement, and it was clear that the event holds a special place in her heart.
“I really enjoyed the experience and trying to share it with the other torchbearers. It's such an amazing community. There was so much energy. And for the people, I got to see everybody, from little kids to grandparents. It was just so amazing to connect with all those people and it was really special.”Eileen G
