Nate Diaz has found common ground with longtime rival Conor McGregor.
The former UFC foes rarely get along with each other after fighting twice in the Octagon, remaining one win at a time. However, things will change on St. Patrick's Day as Diaz was linked to the ongoing situation regarding McGregor's promotion.
The Irishman's return to competition has been delayed for quite some time, having not fought since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor has not been able to confirm a date for his next fight against Michael Chandler, with 'The Notorious' frustrated after a 31-month layoff.
After a lot of lights and cameras were used in filming his first movie, Roadhouse, McGregor is hoping to see some real UFC action soon.
“I was hoping for a December date, but then the January date keeps getting postponed. Then I lose interest and stop training for a while,” McGregor told The Mac Life (via MMA Fighting ). “I never stop training, I keep training all the time, but I don’t stop training completely; [start] I'm drinking a little. So I'm going to go back, regroup, get a full test, and get ready to rock. When the date comes, you're ready to rock. ”
Diaz will leave the UFC in 2022 after his contract expires. During his 15-year tenure, Diaz's promotion was marked by complications. The Stockton native believes McGregor is in exactly the same situation as he once was.
“This has been me for years before Connor got here. They want me dead before they let me out of my contract. It's up to you to make something pop, no one but you can help me.” No,” Diaz wrote on “X” on Sunday. “Release Connor. It's Patty's day in this B****.”

The former two-time UFC champion says he has two fights left on his contract. But no one knows if we'll ever actually see Conor McGregor complete his contract, considering how difficult it is to get a single fight booked.
