A Sycamore High School graduate was named to the U.S. Olympic swimming team on Sunday night. Carson Foster, 22, beat out seven other swimmers to take first place in the 400-meter individual medley. Foster is currently a student and swimmer at the University of Texas. Previously, he was a member of the local Mason Manta Rays swimming team. He will have a chance to compete in the 400-meter individual medley in Paris next month. As the U.S. team's Olympic trials progress this week, Foster will also have a chance to compete in more events. Foster's older brother, Jake Foster, also a student at the University of Texas, will also compete in the Olympic swimming trials this week. The race took place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, which is normally home to the NFL football team, the Indianapolis Colts. Foster will be competing in the Olympics three years after placing third at the 2021 Olympic trials. WLWT will broadcast the remaining swimming trials live each day this week from Lucas Oil Stadium with Shelley Paolello, Steven Albritton and Charlie Clifford. The Olympics will also be broadcast live exclusively on WLWT in conjunction with the rest of the NBC family of channels every day from July 26-August 11.
