University of Nebraska football team adds former USC cornerback and actor to 2024 roster

Matt Rhule and the Huskers are on a recruiting trail. As Matt Satell says, the camps, whether home or away, are about both getting players and showcasing the Nebraska football brand. Friday night lights events, graduate student camps, youth football camps, etc. Huskers head coach Matt Rhule has seen over 4,300 players in person this month. He says he loves seeing the skill sets and competitive spirit of the players in person. It's about more than recruiting little kids. Coach, come to me. I came from Florida for this. Coach, I came from Colorado for this. So, we want to grow the Nebraska brand long term and have people come and have great experiences with Husker Nation, not all of them play on our team. We want people who watch Nebraska football, the Huskers, have really positive memories, positive interactions. Rhule is always thinking about ways to grow the sport. He mentioned the women's sevens camp in particular. Girls sevens camp is going to be the next big sport. It's going to be in the Olympics. My daughter Leona wants to be the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers one day. So I think girls flag should be addressed in this state, the ultimate football state. I think it should be in high school. It's going to be in the NCAA eventually. It's going to be in the Olympics. So I want us to be at the forefront of that. We expect another busy weekend in Lincoln before the month-long recruiting break begins on June 24. We're reporting from outside the Hawks Championship Center.

The former USC cornerback has transferred to Nebraska. Related article for the video above: Matt Rhule on wide receivers During his time at USC, Thayer Wright recorded 30 tackles, one interception and two pass breakups. He started 11 games and played in 23 games for USC. In addition to his football career, Wright has also worked as an actor and model, and has appeared in several television shows and in “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” in which he played LeBron James' son.
