Mark Diakies has found a new home in the PFL.
The 15-fight UFC veteran has signed a contract to be on the PFL roster and will compete in 2024 before taking part in a season-long tournament starting in 2025. PFL officials announced the deal Saturday during a PFL Europe event in the United Kingdom.
“I'm proud to call the PFL my new home and can't wait to get started,” Diakiese said in a press release. “I'll be making my Smart Cage debut later this year and announcing my joining the team, then I'll compete in the regular season with $1 million in prize money on the line.”
“I believe in myself at lightweight and I'm going to take on everyone. I feel like this division is mine and the PFL Championship has my name on it in 2025.”
The move comes after Diakiese spent seven years with UFC since making his debut in 2016. During his time with UFC, Diakiese has had a rollercoaster ride with numerous ups and downs over the years.
He started his UFC career with three straight wins, then lost three straight fights, and while Diakies never won more than two straight fights after that, he never lost more than two straight either.
His UFC career ended in November 2023 with a split decision victory over Kaue Fernandez.
Now, Diakies will be starting afresh in the PFL, looking to make waves in individual competition for the remainder of the year before moving on to the 2025 PFL season.
