Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is one of the best players in basketball, but former NBA star and Memphis Grizzlies guard Gilbert Arenas believes the hype surrounding him has gone too far. . On a recent episode of the show at Gills Arena, Arenas said of Doncic:
“Jayson Tatum can't be a superstar because he can't win a championship at 25. He's still young. We're not talking about him winning a championship at nearly 22 years old. 23, 24. And here's Luka. He's compared to Michael Jordan. And he's James Harden. He's literally James Harden. A guy who scores a lot of points but doesn't play defense. We look at what they did with James Harden who didn't play defense. They let the world know that he didn't play defense. They said he was a one-sided player. “He let the world know… Luka is considered the next Michael Jordan. A Michael Jordan who played defense and offense.”
Arenas added, “It can be done.” [Doncic] Do you think he's a better scorer than James Harden? I can't even do that. There's no arguing that he's a better scorer than James Harden in the same category. However, he is considered the next Michael Jordan. ”
Arenas, who has strong opinions on the subject, doesn't seem to like Doncic's media coverage.
