Former UCLA Bruins All-American and Miami Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr. capped off an outstanding rookie season as a member of the NBA All-Rookie First Team for the 2023-24 season.

Jaquez joins the first team along with Oklahoma City Thunder center Chet Holmgren, San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembaneyama, Charlotte Hornets forward Brandon Miller and Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podzemski. join.
The former Bruin was having a brand-new campaign himself. In 75 games and 20 starts, he averaged 11.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 32.2 percent from behind.
Jaquez was the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. The 23-year-old was an immediate hit with the Heat, giving a veteran presence to a veteran team.
Unfortunately for Jaquez and the Heat, their season ended with a first-round loss to the Boston Celtics. The Heat were a weakened team, but Jaquez did his best to make it a competitive series. In his first playoff appearance, he averaged 12.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in four games.
The former Pac-12 Player of the Year is looking to build on his great rookie season.
