Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Shawn Strickland is a bit of an enigmatic figure. Take, for example, his relationship with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) star Mike Perry. In recent months, Strickland has politely expressed a desire to face Perry to see what he can do, but in a recent press conference, he slammed BKFC.
“How much would it cost me to fight bare-handed?” Strickland said. “They don't pay me nothing. They pay these guys shit. I'm gonna break their hands, I'm gonna break their eye sockets, and I'm gonna make a couple thousand dollars.”
Former UFC champion and current BKFC fighter Eddie Alvarez has already spoken out against Strickland, and now Perry has responded. In response to the above comment, Perry wrote, “Strickland, he fights for pesos at UFC and I get paid here. He posts videos on Instagram all the time where he walks outside his garage or front door and there's someone in the driveway who wants to fight him for free barehanded. What are you talking about, Shawn?”
Strickland responded, largely echoing Perry's sentiments, claiming that most BKFC fighters are paid less than their UFC counterparts, even though he uses his platform to fight for UFC's “totally terrible” pay.
“UFC salaries are total garbage,” Strickland responded. “Lol, their [sic] It should be criminal to sign a fighter at 10/10…yet the vast majority of BKFC fighters get paid far less than that…As a UFC fighter, I advocate for better pay for myself and all fighters…you should do the same for your fighters.”
He continued, “I'm talking about rags to riches, but with capital it just snowballs. These elites will probably never take a paycheck again and could easily make half a million a year… but they have millions of dollars piling up in their bank accounts that they'll never need or spend, across all industries.”
Just a week ago, Strickland defeated Paulo Costa by unanimous decision at UFC 302. He maintained after the win that he won't compete until he gets a title shot, while Perry remains unbeaten in bare-knuckle boxing and recently handily defeated Thiago Alves (watch it here).

I think more MMA fighters should post Instagram stories after a crushing, disappointing loss and reveal their true feelings!

Daniel Cormier wasn't thrilled to exchange greetings with Jon Jones.
An update on Liam Harrison's One Championship fight, which was cancelled last week:
A big shout out to one Championship boss, I called him and he was so understanding and totally on my side and still paid me in full. I'm disappointed I missed the game but I'm grateful the boss was so good to me.

Unfortunately, the final damage seemed to be done as the tip of Bruno Ferreira's elbow struck Dustin Stoltzfus square on the face.
Smoking a cigarette and scoring a knockout? That's true Nak Muay Thai.
I love Jiu Jitsu, but this art is home to some of the greatest people on the planet and some complete losers.
Shafqat's logic seems perfect to me.
JDM is injured and Usman and Colby don't want that. He's ready to face the winner of Leon vs. Belal.

Switching between knees and elbows from a double collar tie is a very effective way to destroy an opponent.
