Boston – The Boston University field hockey program has announced its 2024 schedule, highlighting nine home games at New Balance Field.
Boston College field hockey's 47th varsity season will kick off on Friday, Aug. 30, when the Terriers visit Providence. Boston College will visit cross-town rival Boston University two days later.
The home opener, which will mark Michigan's first visit to BU since 1986, will be highlighted on Friday, Sept. 6, as the Terriers host the Wolverines.
The non-conference home schedule also includes games against regional rivals Massachusetts (Sept. 13), Maine (Sept. 15), Northeastern (Oct. 13) and New Hampshire (Oct. 20). The regular season finale will be played on Nov. 3, when BU will host Cornell for the first time.
The Terriers open Patriot League play at Bucknell on Sept. 21. The Terriers' home league opener is against Lehigh a week later. BU also hosts Holy Cross (Oct. 4) and Colgate (Oct. 18) in league action, with trips to American (Oct. 11) and Lafayette (Oct. 26).
Boston College will have two trips to Ivy League opponents, at Brown on Sept. 8 and Harvard on Oct. 6. The Terriers have not played the Bears since 2007.
The Terriers will hold a preseason scrimmage at Boston University on Aug. 16 before hosting preseason scrimmages against the University of Vermont (Aug. 20) and Stonehill College (Aug. 24).
The four-team Patriot League Championship will be played Nov. 7 and 9 and will feature the top seeds.
