Cambridge, Massachusetts – The Harvard University field hockey team is the Ivy League regular season and tournament champion and will be competing in exciting matches against teams from around the country this fall. The Crimson will also be celebrating their 50th anniversary.Number The program's anniversary will be in 2024.
The 2024 season will kick off on Friday, September 6, when the Crimson will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia to take on the defending Coastal Athletic Association champions, the University of William & Mary. The opening weekend will conclude on Sunday, September 8, when Harvard prepares to take on Atlantic Coast Conference powerhouse Wake Forest University.
Next weekend, Harvard will welcome fans back to Berylson Family Field Hockey Field for the first time in 2024 when the Crimson host UAlbany on Friday, Sept. 13 at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 15, Harvard will host UConn with the matchup against the Huskies kicking off at 1 p.m.
A three-game trip begins in New England on Saturday, September 21. The Crimson open Ivy League play in Hanover, New Hampshire against Dartmouth. The next day, the Crimson travel further north to take on Vermont on Sunday, September 22. The Crimson conclude the trip with their second Ivy League game of 2024, a showdown against Brown in Providence, Rhode Island.
Harvard returns to Cambridge on Sunday, Sept. 29, hosting in-state rival UMass at 2 p.m. The Crimson return to Ivy League play on Friday, Oct. 4, hosting rival Yale at 5 p.m. The homestand concludes on Sunday, Oct. 6, when the Crimson host Boston University at 1 p.m.
Harvard is set to travel to the Empire State on Friday, Oct. 11. The Crimson will travel to New York to take on Ivy League rival Columbia University. On Sunday, Oct. 13, Harvard will face one of its biggest tests of the year when it takes on last year's national runner-up, Northwestern University.
Another high-profile matchup awaits Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 19, as the Crimson host Princeton in a rematch of last year's Ivy League Tournament final. Harvard will also welcome the Cambridge community to Burleson Family Field Hockey Field for the program's 50th game.Number Anniversary celebration.
Following the game against the Tigers, Harvard will travel south to the Quaker state for a pair of games. The Crimson will face the University of Pennsylvania on Friday, Oct. 25, followed by a matchup against Saint Joseph's University on Sunday, Oct. 27. Harvard will host Cornell University on Saturday, Nov. 2 for the regular season finale.
The postseason will begin with the 2024 Ivy League Tournament on Friday, November 8th, and the NCAA Field Hockey Championships will begin on Friday, November 15th.
