According to local reports, the man showed up to the party without an invitation and harassed a group of women and was repeatedly told to stop. He then began inappropriately touching Alisa Ilinina and was again told to stop. Alisa asked security to intervene but got no help, so she went out and took matters into her own hands.
Security camera footage shows Alisa landing a single punch in the man's face, knocking him down and causing him to struggle to his feet as security guards looked on. Alisa Ilinina has been training in martial arts since she was a child and won a bronze medal at the 2020 World Amateur Grappling & MMA League Championships.
Friends of the women's mixed martial arts champion confirmed the story, explaining that he had been asked multiple times to quit but refused.
“At first she wanted the security guard to help her, calmly asking him to leave and not touch her, but the man didn't understand the word 'no'. But she had no other choice.”
Commenting on the incident, Iriniana's mother added:
“Alyssa was able to stand up for herself. It's a shame that no one cared about her.”
