There's good news and bad news.
Unfortunately, this is the last traditional “Fantasy Trends” column of the season. The good news is we're here to prepare you for the rest of the playoffs. and We'll be back with another positive column about keepers next week.
Anthony Duclair, LW, TBL | 38% Yahoo
I'm always looking for guys that are in a position to succeed and being slotted in alongside Nikita Kucherov and Braden Point is just that. Duclair has flourished since moving from San Jose to Tampa Bay in a role that better suits his skill set.
Anthony Stolarz, G, Florida State | 31% Yahoo
The Panthers will play back-to-back games next week against the Maple Leafs on Monday and the Canadiens on Tuesday. Stolarz will likely be between the pipes and provide solid netminding behind a super strong team.
Jake Allen, G, NJ | 34% Yahoo
Allen far exceeded expectations against New Jersey, saving about four goals more than expected in the team's first six games heading into Thursday night's matchup. Look for him to be a starter until the end for a team that needs a quality starting goalie.
Jonathan Drouin, LW, COL | 26% Yahoo
It took Drouin a while to get off the ground in Colorado, but take a look at his cooks who finished in the top six. Right now, it's on the top line alongside Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen and the top power play unit. Even if he shifts the lineup to the second line, the Avalanche have more depth than they had earlier in the season, which should help him maintain his success.
Jake Neighbors, LW/RW, STL | 25% Yahoo
Neighbors' point streak may have ended against Las Vegas, but the forwards are in position to continue producing top power-play units on the top line with Robert Thomas and Pavel Buchnevich. Look for him to be fully active as the Blues look to keep their slim playoff chances alive.
Evan Rodriguez, C/LW/RW, Florida | 22% Yahoo
Rodriguez's positional flexibility is very useful at the bottom of the roster. As long as there is an opening up front, he can fill it. He has been promoted to Aleksander Barkov's line, so now might be the time to take advantage of it.
Justus Annunen, G, COL | 14% Yahoo
We have a busy schedule next week with games on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, so I hope Anunen will do well. He has had quality starts in eight of the nine games so far, giving his team a chance to win. That, plus the support of his elite team, should give the backup some confidence.
Jason Zucker, New South Wales, New South Wales | 7% Yahoo
Zucker has potential for deep leagues looking for someone to add a little boost here and there. His value comes from his volume shooting and positive impact on Nashville's 5-on-5 offense.
Nick Schmaltz, C/RW, ARI | 30% Yahoo
Bad team effectiveness may mean that those in leadership roles are the only surefire choice. Schmaltz has accomplished more in Arizona than his current roster percentage indicates. This isn't just a strong showing, he's been showing solid production here for over a month now. Not only will we get a ton of gameplay from Schmaltz, but we'll get his two light nights next week and three more quality gameplay in his last two weeks.
Adam Enrique, C/LW, EDM | 25% Yahoo
Edmonton's schedule is on record with four games and two light nights the week of April 1st, followed by six games around a “final” matchup covering two weeks of play. The schedule has gone as smoothly as it could have been. Well, you get the idea now. We're looking at players who are in the top six. The coaching staff appear to be looking to make Enrique a loan signing by moving him to Leon Draisaitl's wing, so he is a player to keep an eye on.
Karel Vejmerka, G, Arizona | 23% Yahoo
At the beginning of this season, it was Connor Ingram's net, but now they're almost evenly matched. There's a good reason for that. Vejmelka has seriously stepped up his game. He had a better-than-expected 10.6 goals saved in seven games through March, ranking second in the league behind Charlie Lindgren heading into Thursday night's matchup.
Dakota Joshua, C/LW, VAN | 19% Yahoo
A healthy Joshua could be valuable to the manager considering the Canucks' schedule in the final week of the season and his versatility. This is the type of player who can shore up his bat and bring physical play while contributing to scoring.
Leo Carlson, C, ANA | 6% Yahoo
A power play unit with Karlsson, Troy Terry, Mason McTavish and Trevor Zegras? I'm interested in the possibilities here. A healthier Ducks team could provide some offensive excitement.
Alec Martinez, D, VGK | 6% Yahoo
With the addition of Hanifin, Martinez's on-ice time will likely decrease. But a shot-blocking defender could come in handy when the Golden Knights' schedule gets more congested. Las Vegas plays a handful of teams that shoot frequently, including Edmonton, Colorado, and Vancouver, so he should be busy.
Anthony Mantha, RW, VGK | 4% Yahoo
To reiterate what I said last week, Mantha could be a great contributor to fill out the roster, considering how often Las Vegas plays next week (and how many times he appears on Light Night). there is. The wild card here is the return of Tomas Hertl. Obviously, if you can pick up the center, that's the move. But look at his linemates. I wouldn't be surprised if Mantha is one of them, it would instantly increase his value. The one to watch is Chandler Stevenson. If he can move to the wing and get minutes with Hertl, he could be a player to watch.
