Caitlin Clark The move has basketball fans perplexed, as he will no longer be part of the U.S. team seeking a record eighth consecutive gold medal at the Paris Summer Olympics.
According to multiple reports, the 22-year-old Clark, the world's most famous female basketball player, was not selected for the 12-man national team to play for the United States in France next month.
The team, which has yet to be officially announced, is made up of a mix of veterans and first-time Olympic competitors, except for Clarke.
The decision comes amid controversy over Kaitlyn's treatment by other WNBA players.
She's been beaten on the court — and outside the bounds of the basketball game. Chennedy Carter Body Check Supporters claim the poor treatment is due to everything from jealousy to racism.
While some could argue that the WNBA is simply a tougher league — Clark is still averaging nearly 17 points per game (13th in the league) and will need to adjust to the physical play — there's basically nothing to see here.
As strange as it may sound, the decision to leave CC out of the Olympic team likely has something to do with her popularity. USA Today The outlet spoke to two sources who said there are concerns about how Clark's millions of fans will react to the No. 1 overall pick's likely minutes being limited.

Predictably, many of her millions of fans are outraged, feeling ignored… Dave Portnoycalled the decision to remove arguably the most popular player alive from the team “the stupidest thing” he'd ever heard.
And it's not just the Barstool founder… many people are scratching their heads, including a US soccer legend. Alexi LalasI couldn't understand this decision either.
“I don't know enough about US Women's Olympic Basketball to know if the exclusion of Caitlin Clark is taken lightly, but I do know that at this point she is the only reason I care at all about US Women's Olympic Basketball,” Lalas wrote on X.
Clark, who scored 30 points in front of a sold-out NBA-style crowd last night, has yet to comment on the Olympic team.
As for who was selected for the team… Aja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, and Brittney Griner These are some of the stars selected for the 2024 Women's Olympic Team.
