Each of Greater Fall River's high school teams (Somerset Berkeley/Diman Co-op) had a lot of success during the regular season.
However, Raider netminder Brandon Silva stole the show in the postseason, leading SBR to its first Final Four appearance in school history. Silva was nominated by herald newHockey Player of the Year.

Hockey Player of the Year
Brandon Silva, Somerset Barkley
Brandon Silva had a year when he didn't think he'd be able to play. Instead, the Somerset State senior netminder had a season to remember. Silva led the Raiders to an area-best 15-2-2 record during the regular season, posting four shutouts, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage.

During the postseason, the Somerset State native stepped up his play. He picked up his 53rd career win with a 25-save performance against defending Division 3 champion Nashoba. Silva then made a 34-save shutout in the Sweet 16 against No. 5 seed Essex North Shore. He then made 33 saves against No. 20 seed West Springfield at the Elite 8, earning a shutout for the second year in a row and sending SBR to its first finals. Four appearances in school history. Silva finished his career with 50 saves in a loss to top-seeded Nauset. He finished the playoffs with a 2.01 points average, two shutouts, and a .944 save percentage.
