Evannie Bridges is looking to make some easy money by bringing Astrid Wet on the undercard of the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul shocked the world earlier this month when he announced an exhibition match with a boxing legend. The two teams are scheduled to face off on July 20th at AT&T Stadium in Texas, and Netflix will stream the blockbuster event.
The undercard has not yet been announced, but Bridges, who held the IBF bantamweight title from 2022 to 2023, is keen to compete.
In Monday's X, she wrote: “Would I be able to beat Astrid Wet on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson undercard? I mean, I would enjoy it.”
But this call-up comes just hours after Wet herself announced her intention to secure an undercard fight, but she has her sights set on a very surprising opponent.
“I think it's time to hang up the gloves and give a shout out to Jill Scott,” she said, referring to the former England and Manchester City midfielder.
“I know she's a little taller than me, but I'm sure we'll do well. This will definitely fill the arena and get a big paycheck for Jill as well.”
Wet has participated in numerous influencer boxing events, including the Misfits promotion, and has three bouts under his belt, all of which have been against content creators and reality stars.
“Jill Scott, you know what to do,” she added, before inserting a clip of Tyson's iconic “Big Boy, Sign the Contract!” demands Bob Sapp.
Bridges said, “I'd happily beat you as the co-main on this card… Don't worry about Jill Scott, she might be scared, but I'm going to baby, £££££ I have no intention of going.''
Bridges will emerge as a stronger contender for the Australian, who holds a 9-2 professional record.
Although he failed to defend his IBF bantamweight world title against Minoru Yoshida in December, he has plenty of experience in the ring.
When asked by a fan why she started criticizing amateurs, she answered honestly.
It's the same reason Jake Paul calls real martial artists. This is called promotion/marketing and is to get people talking. Thank you for your input, all are helpful. Besides, I can never say no to a very easy payday…Unfortunately, Miyo has to fight her obligations, so I'm not going to wait. I've waited long enough for these two years of him. I want money and fights.
Before facing Yoshida in December, Bridges had not fought since December of the previous year, and the loss ended his 21-month reign as champion.
It remains to be seen whether the fight will materialize, but all eyes will be on the main event, which will see the return of the legendary Tyson.
His last exhibition fight was a draw with Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, a bout that traces the career of the former undisputed world heavyweight champion, who first won the belt in 1986 at just 20 years old. became.
Tyson's opponent, Paul, has nine wins in 10 professional fights, most recently defeating Ryan Borland by TKO.
