Owen Edwards, from Middlewich, took part in the MTM Super Series in Liverpool and won the event.
This is only Owen's third fight, but he's hopeful his performance will help him take it to the next level.
“Combat sports is what I love most in the world and to be competing in such a big show and being ranked so high on the card means a lot to me and my future in the sport,” Owen said.
“I really believe we can go far.
“Muay Thai is now my life.”
Owen, 19, trains at Evade Cheshire Martial Arts on Nantwich Road, Middlewich.
When Owen first started competing he weighed 18 stone and was told it would be hard to find competition opportunities at his weight.
Since then he has managed to get his weight down to 12 stone and is hoping to lose even more with three more fights coming up this year.
“Training for this fight has been the hardest I've ever done and I've done everything I can to be as prepared as possible,” Owen said.
“This camp was very difficult but I never once thought about quitting. I always fought, I kept moving forward and I knew I would come out victorious.
“I knew I had to step up, not just for myself, but for my family, my gym, my coaches, and I had to represent my city.”
He added: “I wanted to prove that even if you come from a small town in Cheshire, you can go far and win.”
“I want to keep going and hopefully win some belts and bring them back home to prove that no matter where you come from and where you started, you can do great things.”

In Owen's bout in the MTM Super Series, he defeated an Italian fighter a few years older than him by split decision.
“He has a little more experience than Owen and is up against a bigger, stronger opponent so we knew we had a tough task ahead of us,” Evade founder Martin McDonnell said.
“His game plan was to be very aggressive and fight Owen.
“But we let Owen score with his kicks, then choke him out and control him in the clinch. Owen had a clear advantage in the clinch, scoring with powerful knees, had better positional control and really wore him down.”
Martin added: “As one of the smaller clubs on the show we weren't very well known but Owen's performance has earned him some fans and some good words from promoters and other fighters. He's really built a strong reputation for himself and the club.”
