JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – With the Buccaneers’ Southern Conference regular season championship defense set to begin in a few weeks, head coach Alen Vital has announced the team’s 2024 roster.
The Blue and Gold will play six games at Summer Taylor Stadium this season, as well as some tough road trips.
ETSU's regular season debut will be at home against Longwood on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 8:30 p.m.
They will make a short trip to USC Upstate on August 25th before returning to Johnson City to take on Presbyterian on Thursday, August 29th at 6pm.
The group's first big test will come at Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd at North Carolina, followed by their final non-conference home game against the University of North Carolina at Wilmington on Saturday, September 7th.
The Buccaneers will close out their non-conference schedule with four consecutive road games at High Point (Sept. 11), South Carolina (Sept. 15), University of North Carolina at Asheville (Sept. 24) and Wake Forest (Oct. 1).
The SoCon season will begin with a visit to VMI on Sunday, Oct. 6, followed by road trips to Winthrop (Oct. 8) and Wofford (Oct. 12).
The team will open with a home game against Gardner-Webb University on Tuesday, Oct. 15, after which the schedule will shift to face conference rivals Mercer University (Oct. 19), Furman University (Oct. 26) and the regular season finale at UNC-Greensboro (Nov. 2).
The Southern Conference Tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, November 8th.
