Edwards and Carpenter each scored 59 seconds apart to make it 3-0 with 2:31 left in the second period.
When Carpenter scored his third goal for a 6-0 lead, Czech had just nine shots on goal midway through the third.
Clara Peslarova faced 48 shots on goal.
Carpenter scored the first goal just seven minutes into the game, finding his own rebound in front and finishing with a backhand.
Edwards added a short-handed goal early in the third to take a 4-0 lead, and 45 seconds later Taylor Heise, the No. 1 overall pick in the PWHL Draft, scored his first goal of the tournament.
The United States will play Finland again on Saturday. The Czech Republic, popularly known in English as the Czech Republic, will face another tough challenge Sunday against Canada.
Canada 3, Switzerland 0
Canada achieved a shutout victory for the second consecutive year in the tournament, and Switzerland went scoreless for the second consecutive game.
Canada improved to 13-0 in the series against Switzerland, including 10 shutouts and a goal differential of 89-3.
Emma Maltais scored her second goal of the tournament, taking the lead with a backdoor rebound 79 seconds into the game. Toronto's PWHL teammate Sarah Nurse made it 2-0 in just eight minutes.
Sarah Fillier added an empty netter with 19.1 seconds left in the third.
Andrea Brendli of Switzerland performed well, scoring goals with 42 saves, including 23 saves in the second game in which Canada was scoreless. Emerance Maschmeyer blocked 17 shots to net Canada the win, her sixth career clean sheet in 13 games in the tournament.
Switzerland will be off until Monday for the match against Finland.
Sweden 8, China 1
Hilda Svensson had two goals and one assist in 58 seconds, defender Paula Bergström had three assists, and Sweden scored seven consecutive goals.
Sweden defeated China 56-6.
Lina Ljungblom and Felicia Wikner-Zienkiewicz each added a goal in the first period. Sweden continued to score goals in the second period, but they did so with a different goaltender as China subtracted Zhang Jiahui for Wang Yongjing.
Sophie Lundin scored 49 seconds into the second goal, followed by Josephine Bouven 17 seconds later. Hannah Olson then fired the puck past Wang for a 7-0 lead 1:44 later.
China entered the game at 3:46 of the second game when Minghui Kong scored on a breakaway.
Sweden is expected to remain undefeated when they face Japan on Sunday. China, who defeated Japan 3-2 in a penalty shootout on Thursday, will be off until Sunday's game against Denmark.
